Important Update: Entry and Re-Entry Visa for Caregivers in Israel

Another Covid variant of concern is currently making headlines all over the world for it created concern among several countries, mostly in South Africa and Europe. Israel is just one country that made adjustments to migration and travel. For Caregivers who are coming back from vacation and are planning to travel out of Israel, please read the important guideline below.

Because of the new OMICRON Covid variant, PIBA (Misrad Hapnim) the Israeli government has announced today that there will be no entry to non-Israeli citizens for the next 14 days unless they will go to a special committee.
 
****BUT as for now, caregivers will be allowed to enter Israel under the next conditions:******
 
PLEASE NOTE – THIS MAY CHANGE IF THE COVID SITUATION BECOMES WORSE AND IF THE NEW VARIANT SPREADS. PLEASE BE SAFE AND BE AWARE THAT THERE IS A CHANCE FOR ANOTHER LOCKDOWN.
CAREGIVERS WITH RE-ENTRY VISAS FROM NON-RED STATES

A caregiver who wishes to go on vacation must:
1. Meet the “green pass” requirements (have been vaccinated in the last 6 months the second/third vaccination and/or have recovered from covid in Israel in the last 6 months.
2. Get a visa and a re-entry visa on their passport
3. be in quarantine for 72 hours when they return (not in the employer’s home)
4. fill out the statement of entering Israel (24 hours or less before the flight): https://corona.health.gov.il/en/flights/ Please be in touch with the agency if there are problems with the form!
5. Do a PCR test immediately after landing
6. do a SECOND PCR test on the 3rd day after they arrived to Israel.
 
A caregiver who is on a vacation NOW, *and has not been vaccinated*, must do the first vaccination shot ABROAD, and they will do the second one in Israel. The agency must apply for a special permit for these caregivers.
 
NEWCOMERS - VACCINATED CAREGIVERS WITH ENTRY VISA ON THE PASSPORT:
 
1. If the caregiver meets the “green pass” requirements as written here: https://www.gov.il/en/departments/news/28102021-06 the caregiver must:
2. Be in quarantine for 72 hours (not in the employer’s home)
3. Fill out the statement of entering Israel (24 hours or less before the flight): https://corona.health.gov.il/en/flights/
4. Do a PCR test immediately after landing
5. Do a SECOND PCR test on the 3rd day after they arrived in Israel.
 
NEW CAREGIVERS WHO ARE NOT VACCINATED must:
 
1. Get a special permit before arriving from PIBA / Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ASK THE AGENCY)
2. Do a PCR test 72 hours prior to the flight
3. fill out the statement of entering Israel (24 hours or less before the flight): https://corona.health.gov.il/en/flights/
4. Do a PCR test immediately after landing
5. Be in quarantine for 7 days (Not in the employer’s home - The employer should cover it), and do a SECOND PCR test on the 7th day. The Ministry of Health might decide to extend this period.
6. After quarantine, the caregiver must get vaccinated.
 
*We know there are problems in India because of a requirement of “permits” we will ask PIBA to publish this regulation in English.
