The Rewire app: When sending money doesn’t feel like another job

You came to Israel and found a job as a caregiver - that’s quite a big step. Now, it’s equally important you find a way to send your hard-earned money back home.

There’s lots of money-sending apps out there (and maybe you have some of them installed). How do you choose the right one for you and your family?

What you’re reading here is a quick review of the Rewire app. Overall, it is more than just a money transfer app that connects you with your loved ones; you can take care of your finances and pay for your social insurance with complete safety. And if you have a Rewire Card, it’s even easier to manage it all right from the app. Let’s go deeper into what the Rewire app has to offer.

1. Money travels safely and fast, as if you’re personally delivering it

Who does not want their money to get home as quickly as possible? After all, it's always good to be prepared for when they might need it. With Rewire, money gets to where it needs to be fast. Plus, it can be done in just a few clicks.

Rewire is officially approved by Israel's Ministry of Finance, and local financial institutions keep an eye on everything it does. This means Rewire follows strict rules to make sure it works right and safely. Plus, its safety guidelines protect your money, making sure only you can get to it and keeping it secure.

2. Send more home for less with Rewire’s competitive fees and rates

Compared to other money-sending apps, Rewire gives you competitive fees. When sending money to countries like Moldova, the Philippines, Thailand, and Sri Lanka using the Rewire Card, you can now benefit from a fixed fee of just ₪7 per transfer, regardless of the amount.

You’ll see the fee when you sign in to your account, click to send money and enter the amount. This fee is only charged when you send money home. There are no hidden fees

When it comes to rates, if you want, you can set up daily, weekly, or custom rate alerts. This way, you’ll know when it’s the best time to send money.

3. Just a few clicks, and you’ll know how to use the app

The app’s design is very simple, which makes it super easy to send your money home. The steps to send money are logical, easy to follow, so there’s no confusion. To help you save time on sending money, you can set up what’s called “Quick Transfers.” It keeps your usual beneficiaries’ details ready to go, so you don't have to type it in every time.

Plus, you receive updates when your money reaches your loved ones, and they'll be notified once you send the money. That way, everybody stays in the loop.

You’ll also see how much you sent, when you sent it,  and even track how much money you spent right in the app. This makes budgeting and managing finances super easy - which brings us to the next point.

4. An app that comes with a salary card

Sending money home through an app is convenient, but having a prepaid card linked to that app takes it to another level - and that's one of the benefits of using Rewire. Basically, you receive a card that's connected to a personal bank account at the Bank of Jerusalem*, and it's all under your name.

Why is this so useful? Your employer can load your salary directly onto this card. Then, you can use it for sending money home, shopping (whether it's in-store or online, in Israel or abroad) and even take out cash from ATMs. It's as if you're carrying a bank account in your pocket, ready for use anywhere you go.

5. You decide how to deposit your money

So, to send money through the app, you first need to load it to your Rewire account. How do you do it? You’ve got quick options. Either go to one of the 600+ Super-Pharm and post office (Doar) branches that’s closest to where you live and deposit cash, use a wire transfer to load money from your Israeli bank account or Doar account, or just use your Rewire card, credit, debit, or 019 card - it’s that simple.

6. You can pay for your social insurance directly

Life happens, and you never know when you’ll need that extra money you’ve put aside. If you’re from the Philippines, you can pay your social insurance right from the Rewire app, without sending money home first, waiting long hours in line, and with zero fees.

Think of it as a very convenient and quick way to cover yourself for future emergency situations. You’ll just need to log in to your account and use your SSS (Social Security System) number to do it.

7. Getting help is easy, in your language

Having support in your language matters a lot, especially when everything is digital and when it's about your money.  It just makes the entire money management process so much simpler, easier, and stress-free. You really want to understand everything.
That’s why both the Rewire app and its customer service are multilingual. Aside from the app that speaks your language, there will be someone ready to help around-the-clock, 7 days a week

Plus, there are strong Facebook communities where you can stay up to date on all things Rewire in your language. These communities offer a place to connect and share experiences. You know that both you and those back home are not alone.

So, that's Rewire. From fast money sending and great rates to a prepaid card, help in your language, and so much more - this app can take care of you and your loved ones back home while you’re taking care of people in Israel. The best way to see what Rewire can do is to try the app, and just to remind you, the first 2 money transfers are fee-free when you download the app and sign up.
